Statistics to blow you away

You may have previously read our piece on the health and environmental benefits of an Urbo system. If not, you can check it out here. However, the benefits don’t stop there. There are numerous additional benefits that range from creating employment, to saving a fortune on congestion. Urbos system and policies are specifically designed to enrich a city on many different levels. Take a look at some of the key benefits below:

Local employment:

In a recent study conducted in Asia it showed that 1% of all new jobs created were directly attributed to dockless bike sharing. As you may already know, Urbo creates employment for each city operated in. Staff are required for everything, from operations to administration, from bike redistribution to marketing. So who better to hire than locals who know the area like the back of their hand. We also partner with local bike-shops for bike maintenance. Each staff member will go through extensive training to ensure they are appropriately skilled to do things the Urbo way.

The biker likes to spend:

People who tour a city on bikes spend more money on average than those who tour a city via car,. This is fantastic news for local economies.

The cost of congestion :

City congestion costs are ever increasing. A recent study on Washington DC stated that $182 million could be saved annually from dockless bike sharing. In terms of societal benefits, the same study estimated an annual benefit of $1.28 million from reduced C02 emissions.

Increased usership of local amenities:

Many towns and cities have fantastic amenities such as theatres or stadiums. However, these can often be too far of a distance to walk or not have enough room for parking. This leads to a decrease in usership. With Urbo solving this problem, these amenities will see an increase in attendance – which is good for the local economy.

So there you have it! Who would of thought a dockless bike system could have such a positive effect on a local economy. As always, if you have any questions or are interested in finding out more about how Urbo could enrich your city or town, get in touch on
